  பிறர் தீமை செய்த போது அதைப் பொறுத்துக் கொள்ளாமல் அவரைத் தண்டித்தவரை அறிவுடையோர் மதியார்; அதனைப் பொறுத்துக் கொண்டவரைப் பொன் போன்று உயர்வாக மதிப்பர்.

  Who wreak their wrath as worthless are despised;
  Who patiently forbear as gold are prized.
• Meaning
  (The wise) will not at all esteem the resentful. They will esteem the patient just as the gold which they lay up with care.
